Alas, not so, My 2001 A8L required a rebuild at 128K $3.3k complete rebuild
with new style reverse thingy so it should not happen again. Yes, Audi HAS
figured out the problem. According to this shop they fixed it in 2005.

This, btw, was an awesome deal as it included removal and reinstallation as
well. Place is in Wayne NJ and they do great work. Top quality!
