[A8] 2001 A8L Battery options question?

Do you live in a place where it gets really cold? IME when living in FL battery replacements were very rare, even the crappiest el cheapo brands lasted forever. Now living in NC I find that you need a good quality battery if you expect any sort of long life out of it. I'm not certain what quality Sears are these days.
