[ba] demograhics ...

... to add my tuppence ...

... demographics are simply targets that companies choose to maximize their
return on the development expense. I wonder how often they "nail" the mark,
or even that they care that much whether or not they do.

What I can say is that Audi hit the mark on the S4 ... they seem to be
selling quite well ... there's one parked in the lot here at work (I don't
even know who owns it yet!) and I seem to see them on the road a lot. I
know people who own them that do fit the target that Audi set as well as
some who don't. I agree that to a certain extent a snapshot taken here in
the SF Bay Area or in other "technology" hotbeds might be a bit skewed
relative to the target ...

... soooo, the question I would have is ... what do you view to be the
typical "engineer type" at apple? You might be surprised how many of them
might actually fit the demographic as originally stated ... funny thing is
that while I do fit the demographic (perhaps a bit high on the age, but it
did say "median" :) ... I must say that while I love the S4, I don't find it
to be practical due to the small interior. I've been thinking of the A6
2.7T 6-speed myself, but I hear the new A4 is a bit bigger ... perhaps that
will change my mind ... hurry Audi, I ain't getting any younger :-)
