[ba] Machine Shop Recommendations?

I use to use a great shop in Redwood City that did an amazing job on 2 of my heads, and their prices were great too...unfortunately, they have since passed (darn real estate prices).

There are a lot of good machine shops that can work on aluminum cyl. heads, especially considering  all the VW heads out there that are basically the same thing.  I would like to find a replacement shop too, but they need to be close by and be owned by someone who is patient and easy to communicate with-I rarely come with "standard" type requests...try calling around to different shops and feeling them out that way, then go there to meet them and talk specifics.

Sorry, no recommendations, but that is the way I would go about it.
