Scares me. I guess I should start checking mine. Come to think of it, I just
rotated the tires a week or so ago on my wife's new-to-us '95 A6q Avant and
will re-torque them tonight. The new habit starts today.
I honestly always dismissed this as legal paranoia. It has only been in the
past few years I have heard this, and have owned countless cars with alloy
wheels for over two decades now. Having never found a loose lug on any of my
cars (and I often do my own tire rotations) I never heeded the warning. I
think Shayne's car loosing a wheel made me stop and think. His advice will
be taken seriously, easy enough to do after all.
Three shops in one day?! Did we have a hard time finding a competent
alignment shop, or what?!
