Hey Folks,
I have a new felt seal for the sunroof on my Coupe. It looks like it's
actually 2 sided in that one edge has a slightly different profile than the
other. I'm pretty sure I can see which way it would go on to minimize the
edge of the seal hanging up on the metal cutout when using the tilt.
But any tips/advice are appreciated. I assume I need to use a weatherstrip
adhesive for long term stability but it does have these molded in "grippers"
in the inner edge so is an adhesive really needed? I have some airfoil
edging for my motorcycle windscreen with the same type of grippers and once
it's on it's very hard to pry back off.
Since the timimg belt a thon never materialized this year I guess I should
dive in on my ownsome. My belt has gotten a bit noisier with the recent temp
drop and it's about 3 years old. Probably only about 10,000 miles on it but
on my Ducati the recommended interval is 2 years or 10,000 miles. Any
comments? Do it, leave it alone etc.
Also, it seemed during the list talk about the a-thon that particular
specialty tools would be needed but I don't see where that would be the
case. Is there something I'm not seeing when I think I'm just going to
loosen the water pump or a pulley, slip the belt off, slip the new one on
and then retension?
Thanks, I've always had the belts done for me (as it has snapped twice in
the 20 years I've had the car) and this'll be my first time in.
Thanks,
M./
