Ok Steve, I'll stop riding you so hard - I hope you understand my conversation is independent of what Johnny wants to do, I'm not too keen on specifically recommending things for certain people to do, I'll present options but its his decision. I'm not really too concerned which way he goes, not my car, my money, etc.
I've haven't been arguing 4kq specifically, just the smaller chassis cars in general. I don't believe the conversatin has been 4kq vs 80/90, you were throwing around examples of the UrS4 being a viable replacement, that's whay my replies were addressing. As far as "basic transportation", if you're building a fast street or track car the fact whether it has leather or seat heaters, etc, is very incosequential to *me*, if you want to build a car that will be featured in European Car, that may be a different story. Jeff Goggins "experience" aside, there isn't a big problem with 4kq's unibody "rattleing apart".
It all comes down to what the car's builder is going for, the fact that my car is 15 years old has never made a difference when passing chipped S4tt's at the track or the street.
