hey robert,

not sure if this is any help, but i was just chatting mith my mechanic
[jim at burlingmae independant] about the new audi's as i'm getting tired of my
slo old 90 and he was saying that the 2.7ta6 was what he would buy if he
were getting a new car. he did say that you give up a little in terms of
reliaility over, say, a 1.8t a4 [which is what his wife drives] , but he
said that all things considered it is a phenomenal car. he's a pretty jaded
wrench who values not having to fix stuff over all else.

he said he would get the tip because the 6spd would get him into WAY too
much trouble. =)

good luck,
jim
