Okay, what's the deal on something like this?

I need to try and get a new shield in my car as mine has had a crack
for many years (can barely be seen from the drivers seat).

I'm very good mechanically and if there are instructions and a source
for the weatherstrip I'd be up for buying one from a yard and
installing it myself.

Any tips/pointers?
