There was a recall to bypass the fuel pump relay to a location
outboard of the fuse/relay panel because the fuel pump was drawing
too much current for some of the tracks inside the panel, causing
it to fail.  If you car had this done, the fuel pump relay should
be mounted to its own socket in a position that is attached to the
top of the fuse/relay panel, and has a wiring harness plugged into
the fuse/relay panel's fuel pump relay position for the "trigger"
signal.

The '82 Coupe (and any early CIS car) fuel pump relay is not a simple
relay.  It has an electronic counting circuit in it that turns on
the fuel pump when it detects ignition pulses.  If the ignition
system stops it will shut off the relay for safety reasons.
