On Tuesday, October 17, the Klein Tools Pit Crew Challenge will take place in front of the Joseph L. Alioto Performing Arts Plaza (formerly Civic Center) in downtown San Francisco. The Mazda Courage and crew of BK Motorsports and the GT2 Porsche 911 of Flying Lizard will participate, demonstrating an American Le Mans Series pit stop. Select fans and media will have the opportunity to participate in a tire change. The Klein Tools Pit Crew Challenge will begin at 11:30 a.m.

... not quite as exciting as hot laps around Cesar Chavez Plaza ... highly recommended!  I've never gotten the rush of standing so close to the cars as I do here ... I'm surprised that noone has complained ... but as long as they keep holding it I'll keep going!  Last year my most significant memory was actually feeling an exhaust pulse from the Cadillac when it hit me in the chest after the car passed ... you're *that* close!  I think I'll remember the ear protection this year ...
