After thinking a bit more about the Fox, I realized that there may be a
better forum from which you may find info on FWD shift linkages.

The qlist is most comprised of "quattro" fans ... which means there may not
be that many who know about cars where the shifter linkage comes out where
the rear driveshaft attaches ... ;-) DOG is the Dasher Owners Group ...
where most everyone is familiar with FWD Audis and VWs ... many of them with
longitudinally mounted engines ...

Yes, those are the usual parts that degrade over time and under adverse
conditions ... I'd also circle the socket for the locating mount at the
bottom of the assembly. Have you looked to ETKA for part numbers and
checked availability at the dealer? I'd say you'd be wasting your time
looking for these parts at a wrecking yard ... but if that's your only
option ...
I'd also give the folks at 034 a call to see if they've ever had a need to
make functional equivalents. These parts are made of rubber & hard plastic
to cushion the feel at the shifter, you can probably MacGyver parts to make
it work without too much difficulty. My BTDT on FWD shift linkages was from
my Fox GTI, fortunately when I needed them the parts were still available
... but I could see what the intent of the bushings was and figured that I
could make something functional without too much difficulty.
You might also want to post this up to the full quattro list ... I'll bet
someone there has some BTDT ...
Good luck!

Say Folks, I finally got around to climbing under my Coupe. Mostly
waited until I could do it with my 15 year old so I could show him
that this stuff isn't rocket science (at least not on an old Coupe).
I have a PDF that will load in a browser that has 6 red circles around
the parts that are broken/missing plus a few that seem like they
should be dealt with at the same time. The major issue is the oval
shaped piece, it's not there any more.
Any leads are appreciated. I already know to try pick N pull but
hoping that someone knows of a source that might not eat a whole day
just getting the parts.
