[ba] access heater hoses inside dash?

My BTDT is on an '83 urq, but I suspect it will be similar to your car.

The job will be easier if you do not have A/C.

You are correct, there are two grommetted holes in the firewall, you will
find them in the passenger's footwell.

You should not need to disassemble the console ... unless you have A/C and
want to replace the heater core ... which I'd recommend if you are still on
the original unit.

You probably can't see the hoses on the engine side because they are right
behind the head, and probably under the battery holder on your Coupe.

The hoses in the engine compartment are the ones that get the most
weathering, The last time I had to mess with them I cut the hose near the
firewall and used a Prestone Flush-N-Fill kit fitting to splice the old and
new. This has been working on my car for many years, and it also helps when
I want to do coolant changes.

Subject: [ba] access heater hoses inside dash?

Hi,

Had a hose to the heater split and although I think I have found the 2
needed replacements I'm not seeing how to get at them inside the car.

I assume there are just 2 grommeted holes and that you just slide them in
from the engine side of the firewall but there are no photos or drawings in
the Bentley manual.

Does the whole upper console have to come down/out?

Or is there something I'm not seeing?

Any tips/advice greatly appreciated.
