Since my car is a TIP, I cannot address the second part of your email. With regards to the engine vibration, my Y2k S4 has 40k mi (I leased it new - and will buy out the lease next month) and I have NEVER EXPERIENCED ENGINE VIBRATION or RPM DROP OF ANY SORT. May I suggest that u get another Audi dealer or aftermkt tuner (I am sure that there are good ones in the SF Bay area) run a diagnostic on your ECU. Just a thought. Also, u should purchase VAG-COM and run your own diagnostics - just to be sure.
