I just had a service appt. at Stevens Creek (SJ) and
it was for the day after I called... It was for repair
not just service though... check engine light on,
they replaced the MAF sensor and "de-carboned" the
head, whatever that means. Guess it was running
rich. Had them fix the blown up headlight washer pump
at the same time. They replaced the front brake pads
and rotors without my asking. Washed the outside and
vacuumed the inside. Nice!!
In general, I have not been taking the car in for the
free maintenance (though I did at 30K while it was
in getting a new water pump.. it was making lots of
noise... also a next day appt). I change the oil &
filter myself at 5K intervals, the hassle of drop off/
pick up aren't worth it to me.
So find something you need them to look at and you
could be in the next day.
