[BiturboS4] RE: Defi Heads-Up display boost gauge and TT

Phil,
1) I don't wear sunglasses (we don't get any sun in the UK :-( ) so it's not
a problem for me.
2) Nor have I as I wanted to experiment with positions before permanently
fixing it. I think I'll put it right in the mid position, i.e. in line with
the steering column. Where have you put yours?
3) No, the boost measurement is kg per cm2 which is 1.02 times bar, so it's
pretty close. The vacuum measurement is in another scale (mmHg I think), but
who cares!

I'll be honest that the boost gauge is mostly novelty for me. When I had my
WRX I found a boost gauge essential so that while I was waiting for a break
in the traffic to overtake, I could hold the car on partial boost to avoid
lag. However our S4 doesn't suffer from much lag so it's not much of an
issue (however it is the the RS4!). Nevertheless I still consider the boost
gauge invaluable for checking the engine is OK - if there's a leak or other
boost problem then I'll be able to see almost instantly.

No, my real need is the TT. My friends and colleagues had been ridiculing me
for sitting in my car for a few minutes with the engine running at the end
of a journey. Now I don't even get "why have you walked away from your car
with the engine running?" ;-)

Cool. I have the boost gauge part done, and am waiting till I have a while
to work on the turbo timer. A couple of comments: I can't see the display
with my polarized sun glasses, can you (if you have polarized lenses). I
haven't put on the sticky reflective thing, so I'm hoping that does it (but
I'm doubtful). 2. It's not bar it's measuring, it's something else that is
less than bar. FYI. Thanks for posting these additional tips - I really need
that TT part done.
