[BiturboS4] Clutch going?

After spending the weekend driving a diesel minibus capable of about
80mph at the most, I was expecting a pleasure when I got back into my
S4 this morning! However, as soon as I stepped in I noticed that the
clutch pedal appeared to have sunk. Initially I put this down to the
difference between the minibus and my car, but upon driving it I
realised that something is definitely amiss with the clutch. The pedal
now has very little travel on it, and it's a struggle to engage gears,
it's like I can't quite push the pedal in enough. It's not slipping,
it's like it's going the other way.

What's the problem here? Still a new clutch required or does something
need adjusting? I thought they were self-adjusting? What happened over
the weekend, for it to be considerably worse when I got back despite
it not going anywhere?

I don't suppose it's a warranty item, but then the car has only done
22.5k miles, should the clutch have failed already?!
