Really? Either it wasn't fitted or it's broken on my car. AFAIK depressing
the clutch whilst starting is just good practice: Reducing starting load so
potentially increasing reliability. I bet most people (in the widest sense)
don't bother doing it.

there is a switch on the clutch petal that interrupts the starter until you
press it in.  you can simply short the 2 wires together to bypass this
safety feature - or a good installer can wire a relay here to simulate
pressing the clutch in so the remote starter works. (dont leave the car in
gear or else it will drive away!)
