Hi All,
I've noticed something about my engine which is worrying me, although
hopefully it is paranoia.
Since having my Miltek cats fitted, I noticed that the average oil
temperature is lower. I sort of expected this so that's OK. However
yesterday I was checking my engine (after an average drive) and was
surprised to find that all the air piping was virtually cold. I remember
that before the cats were fitted it could get quite warm. I accept that the
weather has turned much colder recently, but it still surprised me.
Feeling closer, I noticed that actually the piping to/from the driver side
turbo was cold, but that the piping to/from the passenger side turbo was
slightly warm.
Now of course cold intake air is a good thing, but a temperature
differential is not. The differential is only slight, so I'm hoping there's
no problem. Indeed there's nothing to suggest there is a problem: Boost and
performance is as before.
Anyway I would appreciate it if you guys could take the time to check your
engine after a drive and let me know how warm your air intake system is, and
if there are any temperature differentials.
Thanks, Dave.
