In that case I'd advise you to take it back and refund the man. The chip is
clearly not increasing the peak boost. It's not your fault but then it's not
his either!

The build date is 02/01 new s4 badge...   The ecu matches his stock number

8D0 907 551 M.  Here is a link to the vag-com readings.  From what I can see
3rd gear is when the chip kicks in.
