[BiturboS4] RE: DIS boost gauge

Looks good. Although the German one (http://www.fis-box.de/index-e.html)
looks like its finished...

I toyed with the idea of trying to do this (I'm an ex-electronics engineer),
but glad I didn't as clearly it needs a fair bit of investment to do.

However I would caution those who don't have a boost gauge away from this
idea, unless you only want the gauge for diagnostics. Yes this solution is
great for not damaging the appearance of your interior, but it's useless for
checking boost whilst driving, especially when using full boost!

When I was thinking of buying a gauge, I experimented first with my
imagination: I drove around, imagining that I had a gauge installed in
several different locations. In all locations except above the dash I felt
uncomfortable about glancing at the gauge whilst driving. Therefore IMO I
feel that a gauge is safe, only if mounted on the dash or the A-pillar.

I have the Defi-HUD gauge and it's mounted right in the centre of the dash,
although quite low down. Whilst driving it is easy for me to glance at it
without taking my eyes (completely) off the road.

Cheers,
Dave

David,
Check out http://www.tripcomp.com/faq.html, they are almost finished the d=
evelopment of a digital gauge which appears on the center display.
