Are the any writeups on the internet on how to do this? My 2000 S4 doesn't
have the Nav system, but if something could be done with the OEM parts....

only use my (normal) Sat Nav system once a month or so.

Besides, as you say, men are supposed to use their genetic sense of
direction. If necessary they can use their back-up system of a wife or
girlfriend in the passenger seat to ask someone for directions ('cos of
course we can't do that can we? ;-).
