But then the Passat is a B-chassis car, same as our A4/S4, and the Pheaton is a D-chassis car. Not sure what chassis the Touareg is.

Yes. Just to throw a wrench into this confusion, the Passat is 5x112
(and I think the Phaeton and Touareg too). So I should have rephrased
the "all 5-bolt water cooled VWs" with "all A-platform 5-bolt VWs" :)
