[BiturboS4] Saw SR6 in the Flesh Last Night

Motoring press in the UK has put the new AMG E55 Mercedes marginally ahead as
the best 'insanely fast large saloon' at the moment (476bhp, 0-100mph in 10
secs!). RS6 and M5 seem to swap for second position depending on what
magazine you read (they like the Audi's performance and gearbox - don't like
the stiff ride and usual Audi lifeless steering).

New S4 vs M3 has been pretty close too. M3 considered the best drivers car,
but S4 is more refined, better in the wet and obviously a lot more understated
and lairy than the beemer (which is a good or bad thing depending on
preference I guess). Steering has impoved, but still doesn't give the same
feedback as an M3.

Oh, and there are apparently rumours that the next RS4 will use a twin turbo
version of the current 4.2 V8 - the same engine as the RS6 in otherwords
(444bhp!).
