I have been using Mobil 1 0W40 oil for the last two oil changes and haven't
had any problems (oil levels haven't declined due to burn off and oil temps
are consistently around 210 degrees). Only time (lots of it) will tell how
the engine fares.

I think the important thing with this whole oil debate is NOT the oil's
lubricating effect on the engine (though it is still very important), but
RATHER the oil's lubricating and cooling effect on our turbos. Intuitively
thinking, a lighter oil will allow quicker (and better?) lubrication and
cooling of our turbos. That seems to me to be the important thing. In my
experience, the rest of the engine can tolerate a wide range of oil types (I
base this on owning several cars over the years and having had everything from
dino oil and heavy or light oils - all engines were fine).
