yep - that's what i'm talking about.
my fan almost NEVER came on prior to my turbo replacement.
Now, it does after every hard run just like my Porsche.
I can actually hear the 'after-run pump' on my Porsche circulating coolant =
and the radiator fans (the Porsche has 2 small fans).
I will take your word that the after-run pump on my S4 was (and is) working=
even though i could not hear the coolant circulation like the Porsche.
To me, like the slogan states: "Porsche Accept No Substitute".
I still like my re-turbo(ed) S4, but it aint "rock solid" like a Porsche.

jy,
The pump and the fan are two different functions. The pump always runs, re=
gardless of temp; but the fan should only run if needed, i.e., coolant is t=
oo hot.
I also assume you mean one of the fans in front of the radiator, I am not a=
ware of any cooling fan specific for the turbos.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the feedback.
Yes, I am familair with the "after-run pump" because I also own a Porsche 9=
51 (944 turbo) and the "after-run pump" operation is very evident (from the=
fan noise).
I did not experience this after-run fan noise with my S4 prior to blowing a=
turbo and having them replaced by AoA. Since AoA replaced the originals tu=
rbos with upgraded K03s the fan noise from the after-run pump is VERY evide=
nt.
Personally, I don't believe that the temperature setting for the after-run =
pump was set correctly when my car originally left the factory. Again, the =
fan noise from my S4 after-run pump is very evident now (just like my Porsc=
he) where it was non-existent (IMO) be4.
Stays on VERY long after hard runs and is VERY loud (can hear it from insid=
e my house (windows open) when the car is parked at the curb outside - just=
like my Porsche).

I believe the after-run pump runs every time the engine is shut down.
It is quiet, normally, and you should not really hear it.

Ever since my original K03 turbos and intercoolers were replaced by AoA,
my "after-run pump/fan" has been coming on after a hard run or high
outside temperature.
This NEVER happened with my original K03s. I suspect the dealer put the
correct temperature switch in the engine when they replaced the blown
K03s because many items were replaced along with the turbos &
intercoolers - at no charge to me.
Like I said - prior to this - I NEVER heard the after-run pump/fan, no
matter how hard I ran my S4. The fan/pump is VERY NOTICEABLE now.
