I always thought with 6 to work with, we coulda had both. 6th is so
short, there's not much reason to downshift to pass. 5th is about
useless IMO. 5th should have been the current ratio of 6th; then make
6th a taller road gear and gain an mpg or 2. Why such close ratios with
a ruler-flat torque curve?
