I felt the same way - keeping the ratios the same but make the 5th to 6th jump
much larger. I saw one example where having the small jump (i.e. existing
setup) was beneficial: two guys went out in their S4 and videotaped the
speedo/tacho starting from about 3500 rpm in 3rd gear (about 55mph) and
floored it all the way through to 6th gear. They had to shut down at 148mph
because of traffic...but when you watch that video you see where the tac drops
down to after each shift. After hitting 6500 rpm in 5th, the shift to 6th
leaves it right in the meat of the power so that you can continue accelerating
without lag through 6th gear. Of course, this is really only needed for
theAutobahn so I think it would have been better to give us USA people a
taller 6th. In my opinion, if you don't want to down shift to pass then you
should just get a tip.

Carter.

P.S> I can forward the video to anyone who wants it. I think it's 9MB though.
