Hi Bill,
>From my limited research:
Toyo T1S - great all round performance, one of the lightest summer tires out there, however it could get noisy as it wears
Bridgestone S03 - used to be everyone's favourite, still has amazing dry performance, but the sidewall is super stiff, great handling by stiff ride, poeople seemed to have moved away from them. Also they are one of the heaviest summer tires out there.
Goodyear F1 GSD3 - getting more and more favourable feedback from people and magazines (EVO magazine in UK declared it to be the best last year.) Great dry and wet performance and retain a reasonable ride, sidewall not overly stiff. I want to try these out when I buy rims next year.
Michelin PS2 - I had oem Pilot Sport on my ex-A4, loved them. Very progressive at the limit, confident inspiring. However they are expensive (what do you expect from Michelin?), but I can only assume the new PS2 is even better then the original. These are very new, so feedback is limited, but people seems to like them on first impression.
HTH.
Quincy
