Sorry for starting this engine torque vs syncro failure myth, I now realize that's not the cause.  However AoA can still say it's due to user mis-use, ie power shifting and such.  But that's even harder to prove.  

I guess the bottom line is that AoA wants to spend as little as possible on warranty repairs, which is understandable to a certain degree, but often they just go completely defensive, which pisses us owners off.  However, it's not just AoA's fault, some dealer are just too damn lazy and unwilling to fight for their customers with AoA, even when they have some power in changing AoA's stance on specific cases.  The problem there is that most people will just take it up the a$$ and pay up for repairs, it's us the enthisiasts that tend to stand up and do something about it.  And to them in the short term, loosing one enthusiasts/long time Audi owner isn't a big deal, cause they know they have many average suckers flocking in to buy their cars.  Hopefully the recent downward slide in sales will wake them up.
