I can't help it but to ask, following your own suggestion, if in
retrospect you think that your S4 would have been a better long haul
car than your actions suggest? I ask because I have a an 01 S4 avant 6
speed that I bought to drive until the wheels fell off. I have
maintained it with 5K oil changes and Mobile one 0-40 for the most
part. I have also kept it stock, also for the long haul. I have the
95 S6 avant that I deeply regret selling with 100k miles rattling
around in the back of my head; I really should have gone long with that
one. Things are tight in my world right now and I am debating selling
the the '01 S4 with a new car warranty in mind for family. I am
interested in your actions and comments given your exposure, off list
of course, unless you chose to post this note and your response.
A long time quattro junky
72 100 LS (gone)
86 4kcsq (gone)
88 5kcsq (gone)
90 V8 slushbox (still mine and going at 165k)
95 S6 Avant (gone)
01 S4 Avant Manual (love it but can I afford it?)
