that's great to hear keman. i had all but written off
the A6 2.7T in favor of a 1997+ BMW 540i.
but, there are a lot of turbo failures with the 2.7T
in comparison to other turbocharged motors, right?
seems like a reason the turbos die is because you need
to run synthetic oil, and many do not. the oil pasages
are apparently very small on this turbo. and other
turbos do seem to be a lot more stout when it comes to
the average joe treating the car, like a, well...car.
not their baby. meaning, not paying attention to cool
down and what not.
would a turbo timer help? does the motronic have one
built in?
i know jack out how turbos are oiled. do they get
their oil from the engine? or separatly?
where do you live? i'd love to have to check out
potential cars. i'm in CA. so, would a good bet be to
find a decent example. then put some better hoses and
clamps, after market high quality by pass valve
IMMEDIATLY? what else?
you have to admit though, the GT25 turbos are just
plain better for making power with the 2.7T than the
little K03, or even the K04...
see ya,
Robby
