Squealing brakes are often caused vibrations due to dust collecting
on the back side of the brake pads. The pads might not be completely
worn. There is no danger in that scenario, just annoying. Anti-squeal
shims can be installed to dampen such vibrations, or just applying some
grease to the back side of the pads (not to the friction surface!) would
usually cure it. However at only 20-30% pad life left, you might as well
do that *and* put new pads in.
As for the other steering related noises, I have no idea, my S4
certainly doesn't do that. Have you checked your PS hydraulic fluid
level?
