I've been using Amsoil synthetic and changing every 5000 miles +/-.

Even here, the official oil change interval by AoA is every 10k miles
(16k km). We all know synthetic is better, especially for turbo
engines, and it should last longer but I just don't feel comfortable
enough leaving it in for that long, so I change every 5000 miles (8000
km). The other thing is can the oil filter last that long? I'm not
sure, so may as well change more frequently than less, besides it's
relatively cheap insurance.
