M.Y. 2000, 75k miles, one owner car. Leased it new,
then bought it off-lease with the Assured warranty.
Always said that I'd never own this car out of
warranty. Well, unfortunately, the Assured ran out in
July and I still own it. Thought for sure I'd crater
the turbos prior to that, but I guess I'm too good to
the car (adult driver, 3,000 mile synthetic changes,
no abuse. Still looks nearly new).

Frankly, I love the car but it's for sale if someone
asks. The value of these cars is dropping like the
Space Shuttle from orbit; the idea of coming up with
$8000 to replace the turbos (roughly 50% of the car's
retail value) is just patently absurd. It's bad money
thrown after good. If I cratered a turbo on the way
home from work today it would get parked in my garage
and put up for sale as-is, come and get it. I'll take
the financial hit, let someone else deal with it, and
buy another car (not an Audi).

It's just not worth it. - GA
