[Biturbos4] 2K S4 Cluster with lines also

My cluster is also bad, or irritating enough now, that I want to fix it.
I removed the cluster, cleaned all the contacts, even opened it up
and looked for obvious cold solder joints, etc. Couldn't see any
and I didn't want to completely ruin the thing by going any further.
Replaced the cluster and darn it, the lines didn't go away at all.
 
Here's the weird deal. Using VAG-COM and running the output
tests on the cluster, I tested the display(s). The strange thing is that
EVERY pixel lights up - no lines!! So, it isn't the display itself that
has the (lines) problem. It's something else (driver circuit??). Could
someone else that has the lines AND VAG-COM verify this also?
 
So... for those of you that have actually replaced it. How much$$?
How much did Claire and/or your local stealership want for one?
