What's your oil levels looking like?

Anything odd looking in either it or the coolant?

If it smokes the moment you start it up, it's not the turbo oil seals as
far as the exhaust path goes. That won't smoke till it all gets good and
hot. And boy, will it ever smoke then. An oil soaked cat will put out a
cloud of smoke that is reminiscent of Spy Hunter, and for a good half hour
after you replace the turbo.

Intercoolers make good 'filters' preventing oil from reaching the engine
via that route. At least.. until they fill up with oil. But you'd be a
couple cases into Mobil 1 wondering what was going on before that happens.
If you pull your lower intercooler hoses (just loosen em up and pop them
off a bit), and you get a quart of oil daining out, something is bad. If
you get a teaspoon out of the drivers side. *shrugs* That's normal.

I'd also pull the TBB hose up top and see what the throttle body looks
like. Is it wet, or is it SOAKED?

That it only does it on cold startup is interesting. Could be a valve
guide seal. If it is, it'll blow smoke right after you let off the gas
while driving as the high vacuum sucks oil from the valve covers into the
intake ports.

Any misfire codes? How do the plugs look? PCV system?
