most "authorities" recommend no longer than 6 mos regardless of mileage.
And if its really stop-and-go, its also "severe service". But if
you're already doing 3500 mile changes, no biggie. And if you have a
v-8, then you dont have turbos, which are the most fragile components
(you dont have an RS6 do you?).
