3) The VW guys in the U.S. are fond of deactivating VW's daytime running 
lights by installing a European headlight switch.  Probably not too hard to 
reverse that process to meet your needs.  Also, if I'm not mistaken, the 
daytime running lights have some additional resistance built in somewhere 
(in the switch?) so that they are not as bright a ordinary low-beams.

3) As with my current car, I assume the fog lights on the S4 are switch 
activated?  (I need DRL's once I bring the car into Canada, so would just 
re-wire them to activite with the ignition).
