[Biturbos4] Control arms going bad?

Hello,

I have a 2001.5 with a little under 75k on it and I suspect my control arms have
about had it.  While turning and on certain bumps I hear a creaking and/or
groaning in the front end, often accompanied by *very* minor tremors in the
steering wheel.  I'm going to make an appointment with the dealer, but anything
I should now about before hand?  Wasn't there a 'recall' on the control arms;
any chance of getting no-cost replacements from Audi?
