on this subject.  He provided a link to an Audiworld
VAG-COM forum posting from 9-3-05 (now that's odd,
eh?).

In summary:

Instrument Cluster
Adaptation
Channel 40 Distance since last service (x 100km)
Channel 41 Time since last service in days
Channel 42 Min. distance between oil changes (x
1000km)
Channel 43 Max. distance between oil changes (x
1000km)
Channel 44 Max. time between oil changes in days
Channel 45 Oil change strategy (1=non-longlife,
2=longlife/flexible) - US models should be 1 

Channels 46-48 LEAVE ALONE

Use 42, 43 and 44 to modify the interval to your
liking.

I'll try this tomorrow ... now I've got to work out
the km to miles conversion :) ... at least metric days
are the same!
