Hi Wilson,
Welcome to the Phatbox club... :) I installed on in my S4 some months
ago and am very happy with it.

Yeah, I did the same. In fact I marked, drilled and tapped the sides
of the Phatbox so that there are holes that line up exactly with
the CD changer mounting holes on the factory shelf, so it is
a perfect fit. The fore-aft location of the Phatbox has to be just
right, or else the cable in the back would become pinched, or the
protruding DMS cartridge (when inserted) would prevent the side trunk
cover from closing properly.
