Interesting. There must be some differences from the Avant, then. With
the cable attached, the PhatBox protrudes about 3" from the front of
the mounting cage; there appears to be almost zero clearance between
the front of the cage and the cover. Add the cartridge and the whole
thing is about 5" too deep.

It's beyond me why they put the connector on the back, thus maximizing
the required depth. I've seen a few articles on the 'net about making
an "L" shaped adapter to go between the connector and the cable to
reduce the depth requirement...
