[Biturbos4] B5 V6 "unilateral" misfiring

I wrestled with a misfire issue similar to yours for
more than a year.  Through the course of
troubleshooting an intermittent misfire that was
mainly contained to cyls. 1 & 2 - the final solution
seems to have been using a carbon removal agent (more
than once).

I too went down the electrical route to no avail.  The
ECM was even swapped out during the testing as nothing
else seemed to be having any effect (plugs, coil
packs, wiring, ignition system, etc.).

Each step improved the situation slightly and due to
its intermittent nature - each improvement was
initially thought to be the solution - until the CEL
would come back on ....
