Argh.

I'm guessing that fixing it, or even trying to verify mechanically
that is the case, involves almost as much labor as a timing belt job
proper.

I'm torn: do I go back a haggle with the guy that botched it and make
him do it over, or do I go somewhere else and pay out-of-pocket and
have them do it right?
