[Biturbos4] S4 suspension advice

Hi, Ameer.

I too wrestle with the roads in the greater Boston area -- not much fun.
I changed the originals to Bilstein Sports at ~120k (with OE springs), and it certainly
improved rebound damping, but the ride improvement wasn't as dramatic as I was expecting.
Your 65k versions might not be dead yet. Using them now to solve your immediate problem
would let you read what's out there and shop around before you find the 'right' springs,
'invest' in coil-overs, etc. Just a thought.

John

Subject: [Biturbos4] S4 suspension advice

Hi all, my new to me '02 S4 came with the Vogtland/Koni sport suspension kit (I think it's
a 40mm drop). The height makes it handle and look really nice, but since I live in Boston,
it's way too rough and it scrapes when going into driveways.

The stock springs and shocks/struts have 65k on them. I'm thinking the springs are fine,
but the shocks are probably done. What's my best choice for shocks with stock springs?
I've heard oem's are $$$ and too hard to get. So that leaves Bilsteins or Konis... any
advice/experience with either setup?

I would love to find lower than stock springs, but they'd have to be like half the drop. I
don't think any springs out there do that... and I'd rather not spend so much on buying
coil-over's (and maintaining them). Any comments much appreciated.

-Ameer
