IMHO 8000K is in the bling range (blue-purple). While it might be good for
impressing those under 25 or annoying those with artificial lenses, ;-) it's
not really the best choice for headlights. For the older drivers, I would never
recommend that high frequency of light for headlights. With age your eyes can
significantly attenuate high frequencies of light. The higher the color temp
over ~6000K, the worse you'll see compared to "natural white", ~4300K-5000K.
Think about the color of glasses people wear when they want to improve contrast;
"drivers" sunglasses, glasses used during target practice, etc...
