Blower motor bushes!

Had this on mine. A sound thump on the passenger side dash would 
sometimes be enough to get it going again, but that got old pretty 
quickly ...

The bushes wear out. Replacing them is surprisingly easy. Search for "a4 
blower motor bushes" on ebay. Haven't had any trouble since.
