My car did this too on dry pavement when I was out racing against my
friends Camaro SS one night on a back road. It did a few times merging
on the higway. I pulled out my air filter and it was black and nasty.
Put a new K&N in un-oiled and it hasn't done it since, but when I know
I'm going to put the accelerator on the floor, I turn off ESP as
preventative measure anyway.

Al,
The only times I have heard something like this happening was when the
MAF was failing.
Did you check with vagcom for codes? Was it cold outside? What are your
mods? Did the CEL flash too?
Joel
