Good to hear that - seems the ones I see sell (admittedly I don't watch
sales closely - at all) seem to go soo cheap...

Good west coast cars are still fetching over $10k. Especially Avants. I
see low-mile examples with modifications sell between $12k-$14k out here.

Yeah that seems like a lot of work for a car that isn't worth much
(unfortunately) - these cars are the deal of the century - in that they sell
for sooooo cheap and are soooo much car. What are they worth these days
$6000??? I would spend the time working over the insurance company to get a
good settlement...

Yeah, they'll allow that. It's an option I'm considering. But it seems
like a long and complex process: apart from sourcing parts, getting them
painted, and fitting them, I'd then have to flat-bed it to somewhere
which can do an alignment check, and then to a government inspection
centre. The nearest place which will hire me a flat-bed is an hour's
drive away, which make it hard to get to on a weekday.
There's quite a lot of damage: it needs a new bonnet, front wing,
bumper, headlight, lock carrier... I just don't think I have the time or
enthusiasm to attack the job. I suppose I could do a timing belt job
while the front's off, though ;)
If anyone does have any DIY experience on replacing a front wing,
though, I'd be interested to hear how easy it is...
Cheers
Richard
